In the summer of 2007 one of our customers, who owns a high end Naim system, set us a challenge. Whilst his father-in-law greatly admired his own Naim system could we come up with a Naim system using only new components including CD player, Amplifier and Loudspeakers for £2,000.00?
Usher to the rescue.
From the Usher range of loudspeakers we had found a little gem, the Usher S520, finished in stunning Piano Black, this 2 Way bookshelf: 1" UA025-10 tweeter and 5" YS-13325-XP mid bass performs way above its modest price.
In fact once the Usher S520 were installed with Naim’s Nait 5i and CD5i our customer travelled down to his father-in-law’s to hear the results and was genuinely concerned that, despite his system costing ten times more, it would actually sound better. Thankfully, the high-end Naim system did sound better, but this Usher system is now known affectionately as our “House Red”.

As with fine restaurants it is not the expensive wines on the list that show the restaurant’s flare, but rather their choice of house wines. So it should be with your Hi-Fi dealer and here is ours.
